Variety, which is one of the leading daily sources of entertainment news and analysis, honors courageous women working as doctors, nurses, teachers and researchers during the pandemic through ‘Variety’s Power of Women: Frontline Heroes’ event which was aired on Lifetime. The highlight of the event Power of Women included paying tribute to three honorees of the year 2020, Cate Blanchett, Patti LuPone and Janelle Monáe for their professional work and humanitarian efforts.

The gorgeous former beauty queen Priyanka Chopra was also part of the event to celebrate courageous women frontliners. The diva who has walked a long road in her career, from dominating Bollywood to becoming a global icon, was appointed as the global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2016, and was also honored by Variety with the Power of Women award for her philanthropic work in 2018.

Priyanka who was excited to be a part of the event took to Instagram with a post captioned, “Incredibly honored to be a part of tonight’s “Variety’s Power of Women: Frontline Heroes” special, celebrating the courageous women on the frontlines of this pandemic. Special congrats to this year’s amazing Power of Women Honorees – Cate Blanchett, Patti LuPone, and @JanelleMonae. ❤️ The event was graced with special performance by Grammy Award nominee Andra Day and appearances by other past honorees, including Laverne Cox, Jennifer Garner, Tiffany Haddish, Gigi Hadid, Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively, Helen Mirren and Natalie Portman.

The stunning woman has a major impact on the people with her social work and is a role model to millions, she also shared a BTS from her Power of Women shoot with Variety in 2018 where she said, “I don’t always feel powerful and I think that sometimes women have to show an enormous amount of strength to be perceived as unbreakable and that we can walk toe-to-toe with any man or anyone around the world but women are physiologically different it’s hard. I am vulnerable sometimes am moody sometimes and it’s hard for me but there is no way I will let anyone see that. When I walk into a set and I think that’s what makes me powerful, what makes me powerful is being able to emotionally check myself; you know use my vulnerabilities as my strength coz I think that’s the power of femininity.”

Priyanka who has always stood up for causes for the betterment of the society at large and not just her country India has all her initiatives close to her heart. Speaking on the occasion the actress said, “Quarantine for me has been truly humbling. I come from India and reading reports about how people are dying of hunger and not of COVID just makes me realize how much of a privileged position I have, just because I have a home that I can quarantine in. Stay with my family, my husband.”
